RRS Sir David Attenborough and Boaty McBoatface dock in Greenwich to mark the start of COP26 climate conference

The new polar research vessel RRS Sir David Attenborough and it’s accompanying submarine Boaty McBoatface have arrived in Greenwich and are docked here until 30 October.

GBGP’s Karin Tearle took some striking photos of the ship arriving.

The submarine got its name as a result of a vote to name the ship, when ‘Boaty McBoatface’ won the public poll. But the boat was named RRS Sir David Attenborough instead, with the winning name going to the ship’s submarine.
